Vantage is becoming Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana
Since Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana acquired Vantage Health Plan in 2019, a big focus has been on combining the skills and strengths of both companies to provide the best service possible for our members.
Now that we have fully integrated, we want to share some of the changes you will start seeing. Rest assured that you will still have access to the top-notch service and care that you know and trust today.
All Vantage individual products will no longer exist in Louisiana as of Jan. 1, 2024. Members in these plans will be notified about their plan options by July 1.
Vantage will be exiting the group health insurance market in Louisiana as of Jan. 1, 2024. Vantage group coverage remains in effect until the end of the current coverage period unless other reasons for cancellation or termination occur. Group leaders will receive notices based on their group’s renewal dates letting them know about other plan options.
All Vantage Medicare Advantage plans will be reviewed along with Blue Cross plans to decide on a consolidated suite of products for 2024 for individual members and retirees. Known as Blue adVantage (HMO) | Blue adVantage (PPO), these plans will deliver the benefits and value our members have come to expect from us. Members will receive information prior to annual enrollment about their 2024 Blue Advantage plan options. We will do everything we can to make this transition as seamless as possible for current Vantage Medicare Advantage members.

Even though our brand name is changing, your plan will continue to be serviced locally in Monroe, LA. Together, we will fully embody the Blue Cross mission to “improve the health and lives of all Louisianians” in all that we do.
